River Guide School
Natureways is pleased to announce the inauguration of a school to train young aspiring people from the Kariba area to become canoe guides. In order to complete their exam the trainees will be required to have a minimum of 1000 hours experience on the river as well as having in-depth knowledge of flora and fauna and the ability to run all aspects of a canoe safari. The training is carried out through a combination of classroom work and practical learning with our professional guides and we are very pleased with the way they are progressing. We look forward to letting you know of their future progress in the coming year.
Natureways has for a long time been a part of both Kariba and Harare. With many of our staff hailing from these communities we have been actively involved in various educational and funding projects with the aim of providing the means whereby the local people can learn and grow and have the opportunity to help themselves within their own communities and appreciate the wonderful flora and fauna that surrounds them.
