Explorer Trips

We will pick you up from your hotel in Kariba and transfer you directly to the put-in point in the river. Alternatively you can come directly to the office where we can store all excess items not needed on the river.

We recommend that you spend the night before the safari in Kariba so that we can start as early as possible and make the most of the day. (Natureways can organise a hotel for you.) All Explorer Safaris transfers are made in open 4x4 vehicles.

Air:

  • Guests can fly from both Harare and Victoria Falls to Kariba on Air Zimbabwe (45 minutes approx.)
  • Guests can take a charter flight into Mana Pools from both Harare and Vic Falls.
  • Clients should contact their Local Travel Agent to find out what Air Zimbabwe flights are available.

Road:

  • Self Drive: Harare to Kariba is approximately 4 hours drive on good tarred roads. We will be happy to supply detailed directions upon request.
  • Natureways can organise road transfers from Lusaka (Zambia) to both Kariba Town or Chirundu Border Post. (Approximately 2 hours Lusaka – Chirundu). (Approximately 3 hours Lusaka – Kariba Town).
  • Natureways can organise charter bus companies for our guests between Harare and Kariba.

Odyssey Trips

Air:

  • Most of our guests find it easiest to charter a flight directly into Mana Pools. These fly from Lusaka (Zambia), Victoria Falls and Harare.

Road:

  • Self Drive: Harare to Mana Pools is approximately 5 ½ hours on mostly tarred roads. (The roads in Mana Pools itself are not tarred.)
  • Natureways can organise charter bus companies for our guests between Harare and Kariba.
