Bono
Bono qualified as a Canoe Guide in 1998, and was voted the best canoe guide of that year. Bono is one of the most experienced canoe guides on the Zambezi River, also having worked in Matusadonha, Mana Pools and Hwange National Parks and his ambition is to qualify as a Professional Guide. As well as being extremely active in the local community with educational and poaching projects, Bono is a seasoned adventurer having travelled the length of Limpopo River in 2002 from its source to the ocean, a journey of 1,600km.
Zimbabwean born and bred, Gus is a highly sought after guide who has worked in Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania and Namibia. Gus attained his pro. guide license in 1994, and as well as having over a decade of guiding experience has assisted in guide training in Namibia, Kenya and Tanzania as well as having ample experience in camp management, camp building and guiding on Kilimanjaro amongst other things. With an unrivalled knowledge of flora and fauna, Gus is most at home in Mana Pools National Park where he can share his love of the bush with Natureways’ guests.
Doug was brought up on a farm in Banket in Zimbabwe and spent most of his time in the bush, one of his favourite haunts being Mana Pools. He left school in 1995 and joined Zimsun where he guided extensively thought the Zimbabwe National Parks areas. He qualified as a Walking Guide in 1999 and he was the Best Guide from Proficiency. Doug has worked in Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia although he always finds his way back to Mana Pools.
